CG Artist / CG Generalist
Abyss Digital is looking for a skilled CG Artist to join our CG team and deliver high-quality 3D work on VFX-heavy commercial projects.
You will work under the guidance of the CG Lead, executing 3D tasks to match the established technical and visual standard — from scene assembly through to lighting, rendering, and handoff to compositing.
We are looking for someone with strong 3D fundamentals, a keen eye for detail and realism, and the ability to work efficiently within a structured pipeline while maintaining the highest visual quality.
We are scaling our Warsaw unit to support growing international demand. This role is an opportunity to work on high-end projects and grow within a fast-moving studio.

Responsibilities
Execute CG tasks to match the quality and technical standard set by the Art Director and CG Lead
Build visually polished, high-quality 3D scenes and environments based on concept art, moodboards, and creative direction — ensuring a strong sense of style, atmosphere, and cinematic quality in every shot
Work regularly within Live-action Plate VFX pipelines — integrating CG elements with live-action footage, and ensuring seamless CG-to-plate matching
Follow established CG pipeline workflows and deliver renders on time with correct passes and specs
Proactively communicate blockers and progress to the CG Lead and production team
Participate in weekly review calls with CG Lead and Art Director to align on direction and plan tasks
Requirements
3+ years experience as a Middle-Senior CG Artist / 3D Generalist in VFX Studio
Proficiency in Cinema 4D and Unreal Engine 5 as primary tools
Houdini knowledge is a big bonus
Experience with at least one render engine (e.g. Redshift, Octane, or similar) — with flexibility and willingness to learn new software and rendering tools as needed
Good understanding of full CG pipeline, industry standards, and working with render passes / AOVs
Understanding of character workflows: retargeting, blendshapes, and custom character creation pipelines
Understanding of Live-action + VFX workflow (plate integration, on-set data handling)
Solid knowledge of shading, lighting, and composition
Ability to follow creative direction and replicate the established look accurately
Good communication skills and team-oriented mindset
Comfortable working under tight deadlines and managing multiple tasks simultaneously
Bonus: Interest or hands-on experience in testing hybrid AI + CG approaches
Bonus: Experience with FX simulations (particles, cloth, hair) in Houdini or C4D
Bonus: Basic compositing knowledge in Nuke or After Effects
Bonus: Familiarity with Ftrack or similar production tracking tools
